The Baker Elf

Volunteer of the Quarter, article by Terri Bloomberg, Mrs. Santa

Introducing: Judy Enright – the “Baker Elf”

Judy has volunteered with 21st Century Santa since 2019. During this time she has given of her time and talent with 92 hour!

Judy has worked many programs such as packing Head Start bags, packing senior citizen backpack weekend food bags, recycling, family Christmas gift list fulfillment, Candy Cane Classics Car Show, as well as the Minco Farmers’ Market.

As she has shared her valuable time, Judy has been dubbed the “Baker Elf,” because she always has a home-baked (from scratch) treat to share. During the Minco Farmers’ Market she made an abundance of treats from candy to cookies to breads and cakes which she donated to the organization to sell for fundraising. If there was any left by the end of the market day, which was rare, Judy took her baked goods to her neighbors to sell. She even had a regular clientele there. She then donated the money to 21st Century Santa.

During the annual car show, she had a bake sale table where she helped raise extra funds while providing homemade goodness to the participants. Her table sign asked people to help her build Candy Cane Village “One Loaf at a Time.”

21st Century Santa has come to depend on her reliability every Thursday to help pack food items for shut in senior citizens, and then assist with delivery to the center for distribution. Judy comes to volunteer from 20 miles away.

Judy is a master gardener and enjoys attending church and Bible study. If there’s a need for help, The Baker Elf is there to not only lend a hand, but to feed your spirit with a touch of baked love.

Thank you, Judy, for being a treasured volunteer!
